Declutter your space …
One of the quickest and most cost effective ways of getting more space, is to declutter and organise your space. Use the 6-month rule; if you haven’t used it or seen it in 6 months then get rid of it. If you’re feeling very brave, then you can use the 3-month rule. This will get rid of anything that isn’t important and will leave you with the things that are. Once you’ve de-cluttered you can then organise your valuable stuff.
Stack it
Organising your belongings on a shelving unit makes the place look ‘lived-in’ and therefore feel more ‘homey.’ It also adds some decoration to your space.
Box it
Use storage boxes for the things you need but don’t want on display. By organising your things into boxes you will know where to find them. These storage boxes can then be put under sofas, beds, in or on top of wardrobes and also stacked on shelving units to keep them out the way and to help save space.
Hide it
For all your other belongings that aren’t good enough to be organised into boxes or displayed on a shelving units- these can be hidden away in storage units. Storage cupboards are necessary in any space because, as much as we want to declutter, we do tend to get attached to certain things. Decorate these storage cabinets with flowers and ornaments to make them look attractive.
